Hello Friends! Today is a Big Happy Day for me!!! Melissa, over at Tuesday Morning Sketches, asked me to be a Guest Designer for the month of January! Whoo Hoo!!! I've been enjoying her weekly sketch challenges for a while now, and her Design Team always has the most awesome cards to get my right brain moving. Well, now that I have five whole weeks to be a part of that team, I hope my cards will inspire you, too.

This week's challenge is sponsored by Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps. Isn't this a fab sketch:

And, here's my take on it:

I used Flouishes stamps for this card. I've put off using the Hollyhocks stamp set because it looked so difficult to color, but it turned out to be super easy. I'll be using it again, real soon, I'm sure.

The panel behind the Hollyhocks is a text background stamp from the Sweet Nature set. I stamped it first in Crushed Olive Distress Ink, then again, with Faded Jeans Distress Ink, that I first stamped off onto scrap paper to lighten it.

I wanted to put this nature quote on the front of the card, but didn't plan ahead for it, so I put it inside instead:

Quite a few of my friends and family have birthdays in January, so making this a birthday card was a given.  I better get busy making the rest of them!

Okay, now, head on over to the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog for all the details on this challenge, as well as some fab inspiration cards by the design team, so you can create your own card and enter to win! I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a spectacular day!

~Hugs,

What a beautiful card, Cheryl! I love the soft color palette and LOVE your stamping. That panel of hollyhocks is just gorgeous. Totally love how you did the sentiment, too. Tying the die cut with the baker's twine is fabulous. Congrats on your guest design gig!
